nn nnPosition Summary: nn nnUsing his / her lean experience, candidate will coach and support the management team in the application of SES methodologies and tools. Through his / her active participation on the shopfloor, will provide training and coaching to plant personnel at all levels of the organization. nnEssential Job functions include, but not limited to, the following: nn nnGeneral nn n* Report to plant manager and co ordiate with division and corp SES managers to develop knowledge of corp standards and best practices. n* Act as a champion and leader for SES principles inside the plant. n* Transfer their lean knowledge and experience to plant team through shopfloor improvement activities. n* Additional functions not specifically outlined in this position description as directed by the leader. nn nnContinuous Improvement/ Lean Support/ Development nn n* Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout. n* Support plant problem solving teams to ensure the production of quality parts and a safe working environment. n* Identify and assist in implementing cost reductions on the shop floor. n* Develop and sustain supervisor, team leader and team member training and development. nn nnLaunch nn n* Utilize lean tools to map the process and provide inputs to sales team as needed on machine utilization, space and labor requirements n* Develop standardized work standards and line balancing for new programs along with manufacturing engineers n* Participate in regular launch team meetings and ensure lean guidelines are followed n* Continuously challenge maturation activities and identify opportunities to reduce maturation time. nnnnPosition Skills and Experience Requirements: nnThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions. nn nn n* Minimum 3, preferably 5 years of lean (Toyota production system) implementation experience at a production facility n* Experience in applying lean (TPS) tools to improve plant / site performance required. n* Working knowledge of various lean tools like std work, MIFC, SMED, pull system, Kaizen, Hoshin etc. n* Bachelors degree in engineering / supply chain management field required. n* Good interpersonal skills and training skills.
