nn nnPosition Summary: The CNC Technician is responsible for operating, programming and setting-up a computer numerical control (CNC) machine. This includes production and inspection of parts and routine adjustments to programming parameters to ensure product conforms to quality requirements. Must maintain equipment, supplies and safety standards. nnEssential Job Functions include, but not limited to, the following: nn nnCNC Technician III (Indirect Labor) nn n* nnRead and interpret GD&T prints and check fixtures. n* nnProgram mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs. nn n* nnMake routine part dimensional adjustments to ensure product quality. Typical adjustments to be made through work offsets, tool offsets, and robotic programing. Manual G-code editing may be required. n* nnMaintain Process Change Log for adjustments. n* nnInterpret SPC chart data and make adjustments per SPC reaction plan. n* nnFollow all associated documentation as directed by the Engineer and Production Leader. n* nnPerform daily process monitoring. n* nnSafely and correctly perform setup and changeovers on CNC equipment. n* nnPre-stage tooling and fixtures required for changeover. n* nnFollow setup procedure and documentation for fixtures, tooling, and programming. n* nnMake adjustments as necessary to achieve 1st piece that meets all quality requirements. n* nnEnsure fixtures and tooling returned to storage after changeovers meet the cleanliness standard. n* nnInspect machine fixtures and perform basic maintenance and cleaning. n* nnParticipate in troubleshooting and improvement activities. n* nnMaintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. n* nnEnsure proper communication between shifts to maintain process stability. n* nnAdditional functions not specifically outlined in this position description as directed by the Leader. nnnn nnPreferred Education and Experience:n nnCNC Technician III nn n* nnHigh School Diploma or GED n* nnCNC machining and programing training through school, trade school, or equivalent OJT n* nn5+ years experience as a CNC machinist, setup technician, or related trade n* nn5+ years CNC programming experience n* nnExperience in quality and production machining of aluminum preferred n* nnComprehensive analytical skills n* nnStrong written and verbal communication skills n* nnProven independent thinking with attention to detail n* nnProven listening and training skills n* nnAbility to translate technical activities to non-technical personnel nnEqual Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/Disabled
