Position Summary:   The Global Quoting & Capacity Manager is responsible for coordinating quoting activity globally and analyzing capacity for all Divisions to ensure the optimatal utilzation of capital equipment.  This position will regularly interface with sales, product development engineering and process engineering to develop the most efficient and cost effective value stream for new products.  The Global Quoting & Capacity Manager will work with technical experts to accurately and consistently identify manufacturing risks and assign appropriate cost impact for new pursuits.

Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Coordination / Management of quote activity for Global programs involving multiple Divisions
  • Leadership / Management of local quoting team and activities
  • VSM creation and optimization for pursuit projects
  • Support operation specific estimating and optimization
  • Facilitate Working Capacity Meeting
  • Update/maintain relevant open issues lists
  • Publish capacity reports at defined frequencies
  • Maintain master capital list
  • Develop strategies for improved utilization of capital
  • Identify and train a back-up to manage key tasks when absent.
  • Additional functions not specifically outlined in this position description as directed by the leader.

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 5 to 10 years’ experience in production, including methods & industrialization
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in lean value stream development
  • Knowledge of SES (lean manufacturing full system) basics
  • Independent and organized work style effectively manages time and prioritizes multiple tasks
  • Understand task dependencies and each task's potential to impact project timing
  • Ability to communicate effectively while navigating a global matrix organization
  • Open-minded, driven by continuous improvement (Kaizen), fact & data and shop floor (Gemba) mindsets
  • Demonstrated experience with equipment and tooling procurement preferred
  • Strategic thinking with long term planning and problem solving skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with team members and customers at all levels
  • Promote collaboration with internal and external customers at all levels
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • International mindset and ability to travel globally
