Associate Involvement
Associate involvement is the key to a safer workplace. Our SPOT program encourages employees to observe and report unsafe working behaviors by requiring a certain amount of SPOT audits as a job performance measure.
SPOT means: “Shape Peer Observation Team”
Worksite Analysis
We partner with MIOSHA for voluntary inspections of manufacturing facilities.
Hazard Prevention and Control
All leaders attended boot camp training in 2008 to refresh their knowledge of hazard identification and management.
Safety and Health Training
All new associates are required to complete several safety training courses during orientation. Modules address correct personal protective equipment, safety procedures, equipment lockout and procedures, and equipment lockout, for example.
