Community & Financial Health – Community Activities

Team Volunteer Projects

Business Units perform various volunteer projects in the community each year as part of teambuilding. Project include lakeshore/dune restoration, building projects, painting and restoration, and assisting various local organizations.

Ramps For The Disabled

Groups of associates build disabled access ramps around the community so disabled residents can easily enter and leave their homes.

Adopt-A-Highway

Shape participates in the Adopt-a-Highway program, picking up a cumulative 289 bags of trash by our sixth pickup in July 2008.

Junior Achievment

Many Shape associates have participated in Junior Achievement as guest teachers, visiting local schools to teach units about life skills and business to students from elementary through high school.

Educational Efforts

Shape, along with sister companies NetShape and Light Corp., brainstormed and helped organize an event in conjunction with the Grand Haven Chamber of Commerce, designed to attract local students back to the lakeshore area after college. The event highlighted career opportunities in the West Michigan area, educating students and the community about exciting careers and possibilities in West Michigan.
