Report Highlights Successful Worksite Health Programs

GRAND HAVEN, MICH.- Partnership for Prevention today released, “Leading by Example: The Value of Worksite Health for Small to Medium Sized Employers,” a publication produced in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that addresses how nearly 20 small to medium-sized employers – including Shape Corp.– lowered barriers to creating effective worksite health programs. through the active engagement of the CEO.
“Our innovative and compassionate wellness programming significantly impacts the health of our associates and their families, and allows them to take charge of their health and make changes necessary to live a better life,” said Gary Verplank, Shape Corp. Chairman and CEO.

The Leading by Example initiative, a peer-to-peer communication campaign targeted to the CEOs of organizations on the efficacy of worksite health promotion, was launched by Partnership for Prevention in 2004. The first Leading by Example publication was released the following year and featured 16 CEOs, and three governors.
