*Grand Haven, Mich. – *Shape Corp. was selected as a winner of the seventh annual PM100 Awards, selected by Manufacturing Enterprise Communications Inc., for the success of their integrated, multi-plant system.
The awarded project involved the implementation and management of a multi-plant ERP cloud system and a series of related data management and process improvements at Shape’s 14 offices, eight manufacturing facilities, six manufacturing alliances and two technical centers. The solution manages all core shop floor functions, such as billing, shipping and receiving, planning and more. The solution is also implemented in human resources, quoting, maintenance, quality and program management functions.
“Shape’s operations were growing at a fast pace, which called for an overhaul of our existing system that was cumbersome and resource-intensive,” said Molly Hunting, information systems manager. “As a result of a single integrated system (Plex Online), operations in all of our core functions have become more efficient.”
Shape Corp. will be honored and presented the PM100 Award at the Awards Gala, scheduled to be held on the last day of the Manufacturing Leadership Summit 2011, May 9-11 in Palm Beach, FL. More than 200 manufacturing technology executives are expected to attend.
“The projects that enabled these companies to become PM100 winners reflect great creativity and inventiveness, a determined willingness to take risk, and an enduring resilience to continually improve every aspect of their business,” said David R. Brousell, editor-in-chief, Managing Automation. “These companies are leading the way to a better future.
