GRAND HAVEN, MICH.- Shape Corp. is assisting in Japan relief efforts by partnering with Grand Haven Stamping Products (GHSP) to host drop boxes for relief goods, in addition to sending care packages to the company’s thirteen associates in Japan.
According to International Aid, items being collected include blankets, sleeping bags and AA powered LED flashlights. All donated items for the relief must be new and in original packaging.
Drop boxes will be available for collection Thursday, March 31, and will be available through April 16. The boxes will be located in the front offices of the Grand Haven Shape Corp. plants, in addition to GHSP’s location. Addresses are as follows:

On Tuesday, March 29, a group of Shape Corp. associates packed and shipped thirteen boxes containing 45 pounds worth of goods to help the company’s thirteen associates impacted by the Japan earthquake. Items include bottled water, rice, noodles and a variety of instant meals.
“The earthquake, aftershocks and tsunami in Japan deprived the country’s people of basic, daily items,” said Danielle Schmidt, leader of Japan relief efforts at Shape Corp. “Reaching out to our Shape family members, as well as helping others in need is part of Shape’s culture. We want to help no matter where they are in the world.”
